Bundesliga table, standings: Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund fighting for title as league resumes play

Bundesliga action has returned in Germany after a multi-month hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic. Borussia Dortmund kicked things off with a 4-0 thrashing of Schalke at the Signal Iduna Park on Saturday and league leaders Bayern Munich followed suit with a victory against Union Berlin on Sunday. 

Elsewhere, Borussia Monchengladbach routed Eintracht Frankfurt, 3-1, and RB Leipzig was unable to keep up with the top of the table, drawing 1-1 at home to Freiburg. For a look at the complete schedule and scores, click here

The league’s return saw teams complete Matchday 26 across three days and the title race is more clear now with the majority of clubs having 25 or 26 games played in the 34-game season. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are fighting for the title once again.

The league also features key USMNT players like Schalke’s Weston McKennie, Wolfsburg’s John Brooks and rising star Gio Reyna of Dortmund who is set to receive his first cap this year.
